Biocomputing

Welcome to the biocomputing group. We use computer simulations to study biological problems. Our general goal is understanding processes that occur in biological membranes. To this end we use models of lipids and membrane proteins to study their structure and dynamics, and how they interact with each other. Tatanka Build Complete... For Now

Tatanka is now online for general use with 288 nodes (576 processors). The remaining 24 nodes do not have power in their current location so we will be moving them somewhere else soon and installing our Myrinet in them to create a somewhat exclusive-use highly parallel machine.

Tatanka Currently Under Construction

Our newest computational cluster is finally under construction in the IT machine room on campus! The new cluster will be named Tatanka which is the Native American name for Bison. Pictures of the construction and a description of the machine are now available!

New Cluster Arrives on Campus

The new cluster has arrived on campus and we are awaiting some necessary improvement in the IT machine room before we can start installing anything. The shipment is on the order of 50 skids! Dealing with this volume of hardware is a task indeed.
